Finally, some new clothes...

I have been running a little low on summer tops lately so I got sewing and made these two over the weekend. The pattern came from Japanese craft mag 'Cotton Time' and was originally a simple dress pattern. I made the gingham top first to see how it all worked.

Ginghamy was followed closely by this one. I went through my stash and found some op-shop fabric so all up I'd say this top cost less than $5 to make. The gingham top was maybe $7.
Not bad at all!

One of my favourite fashiony blogs is Wiksten Made. Jenny has great taste and designs some of the loveliest clothes I've ever seen. With my love of yoke tops (I think that's what they're called) and inspiration from Jenny's Wiksten collection I set about re-working some of my old second hand shirts.

The red top above is a Christian Dior shirt I originally bought second hand for $10

I should probably try and find another easy summer top pattern soon otherwise I think I'll end up making 5 or 6 more from my Cotton Time pattern. When your on a roll........

I love the gingham top. Actually they both are very nice. I'm sure you'll get heaps of wear out of them.
